Thank you for your interest in affiliating with the AAC at this unprecedented time in the history of the Anglican Communion. We are grateful to God for your faithfulness and witness to the community of believers.
Why affiliate your parish with the AAC?
The many benefits of affiliating your parish include:
Being part of a community of orthodox believers
Being listed on our website as an Affiliate Parish makes it easier to grow your church and for other faithful Anglicans to find you
Receiving one time use of our mailing list for your local parish area
Receiving weekly e-mail updates that will link you to mainstream Anglicans throughout North America and the world
Receiving multiple copies of our Encompass newsletter keeping your parish informed about news in North America and the Anglican Communion worldwide
Receiving an AAC outdoor sign for your church that will identify you to those searching for an orthodox Anglican church;
Receiving an Affiliation Agreement suitable for framing with the signature of the President of the American Anglican Council
Please print out all four affiliation documents at right. (Click the Acrobat Reader icon if you do not already have Acrobat on your computer; you will need this software to download the four documents.)
Prayerfully determine the will of your parish.
Have your parish's rector and senior warden read sign all appropriate forms at a vestry meeting. At that time, consider adding a line item in the church budget to support the mission of the AAC.
Fax or mail the above signed forms to us at our Atlanta address.
After we receive signed forms from your parish, the AAC Board of Directors will vote on your application and approved it.
If you have questions or need assistance contact Carol Frederick - call 800-914-2000, email her at cfrederickATamericananglican.org (replace the AT with @ when emailing).
What are the responsibilities of my parish once it affiliates?
As a Parish Affiliate, we ask that your parish:
Adopt the Parish Covenant as part of your mission statement.
Give financially to the AAC as a line item in your budget, or by special offering, for an amount that is significant for your parish.
Encourage all parishioners to become individual members of the AAC. (Click here.)
What needs to be done if your parish chooses to disaffiliate?
To protect all concerned, the disaffiliation process needs to be a decision of the whole church and therefore requires:
Vestry notes showing a majority vote of the Vestry and Wardens
The signature of the senior warden and rector on the Disaffiliation Agreement (see forms).
Fax or mail the above signed form and meeting minutes to us at our Atlanta address.
*Affiliation with the AAC is a voluntary association. We hold up the covenant as a list of goals and intentions. We are in no way intending to set up a hierarchy to enforce compliance any more than our statement of faith is intended as a litmus test for Anglican Orthodoxy.
